2026 GTP AT PETIT LE MANS POST RACE REPORT

The duo of Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing V-Series.R GTPs headed to the endurance classic, MOTUL Petit Le Mans, to sign off the 2026 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. Filipe Albuquerque and Louis Delétraz handled qualifying duties with the No. 10 Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing V-Series.R starting 10th on the grid. As the field took the checkered flag after 10 hours of racing, the No. 40 Cadillac WTR V-Series.R finished in third.

Track conditions early Saturday morning declared a wet start to the 10 hours of racing with all teams running on wet tires for the opening laps. As the first hour ended, the field saw a full course yellow bringing both cars into the pits.

Delétraz settled into their second hour at the wheel with a series of yellows eventually bringing them back to pit lane under caution. Following their final pit stop under this first stint of driving, the field saw a run of green-flag racing before it was time for the initial driver change to their teammates.

Jordan Taylor got behind the wheel of the No. 40, with a fresh set of tires and a full fill on energy. He navigated their way through class traffic before coming in under caution for an energy fill. As they took to the restart, rain steadily began to fall seeing the No. 40 opted to stay out on slicks. The No. 40 ran as high as third before eventually being forced to pit lane under a red flag for inclement weather conditions. After the brief red flag period, Taylor and the No. 40 switched to wet tires due to the rainfall.

Weather began to clear following the restart; the No. 40 followed suit to their teammates to make the switch as well. A timely yellow saw Taylor in the No. 40 coming back to pit lane with their endurance racing teammate, Colton Herta, stepping in for his next stint. Herta quickly got up to speed, despite some challenges for track position on throughout his stint. He capitalized on the green flag running and restarts to stay within leader contention.

With nightfall officially across the racetrack, a series of yellows carried Herta to the end of his double stint. He took the opportunity for their final driver changes. Delétraz climbed back behind the wheel in pursuit to the checkered flag with two hours remaining.

A slew of cautions following the driver changes approaching the final hour. With split strategies and under an hour to go, Delétraz pitted a lap later for tires and energy. Then the energy-saving game came into play.

The closing minutes saw intense racing action with the many strategies coming to a head. A final yellow saw a competitor ahead out of contention, and with another fuel saving effort not coming to fruition, both Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing teams were primed to move forward. As the field took the checkered flag at the end of the 10 hours, the No. 40 secured their spot on the podium in third.

Louis Delétraz:
“Very happy with P3 and finishing the year on a high at such a historic race. It's my first podium overall at Petit Le Mans, so I'm very happy about that. Huge thank you to Cadillac, Wayne Taylor Racing, Jordan, and Colton. It's been a year of progress. It's our second podiu this year, and we've had a lot of pace. I think we've never been stronger. I'm really happy about that. It wasn't easy - we were thrown to the back a few times with unlucky yellows and some cars pushing us off, but no one gave up. We had good strategy and were good on fuel at the end. Overall, very good. Congratulations to the No. 31, Jack Aitken, and Cadillac for winning the Championship!
